Infographics is derived from the word 'information' and 'graphics', the method of visual translation of an information, data or knowledge that aims to explain complex information quickly and easy to understand. Infographics can improve cognition by utilizing the graphics / images to enhance the ability of the human visual system in terms of seeing patterns and trends.
Infographics Dashboard allows users to visualize and analyze company and external data to set realistic goals, and track progress against key metrics / performance measures for the overall business, by division, or even at a team level. Insight can be delivered to the relevant people so immediate decisions can be made.
Dashboard is a visual representation that gives executives, managers and analysts a quick and easy way to view their company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
With Microsoft Excel (especially 2010 upwards) it is possible for us to make an Interactive Dashboard with features that are not less sophisticated than any enterprise dashboard application.
Excel Power Pivot
Power Pivot is a free add-in/extension for Microsoft Excel 2010 upwards that enables you to import millions of rows of data from multiple data sources into a single Excel workbook, create relationships between heterogeneous data, create calculated columns and measures using formulas, build PivotTables and PivotCharts, and then further analyze the data so that you can make timely business decisions without requiring IT assistance.
Before Power Pivot, we are facing limitation problem when working with huge data in Excel that we can only process up to 1,048,576 rows (2007 & 2010), that’s better compare to Excel 2003 which only allowed 65,536 rows maximum. Now with Power Pivot we’ll be able to process more than a million of rows, load and combine data from multiple data sources such as RDBMS (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, Teradata, Sybase, Informix, etc.), Microsoft Access, Text/CSV files, and off course other Excel files.
